A chiropractic adjustment is designed to help realign your spine. This realignment opens up a series of pathways throughout your body that may have been blocked by tension, stiffness and stress. Once these pathways are open, this can cause headaches. The sudden rush of blood flow or air can cause your body to react in a negative way. Typically, the headache will subside on its own once your body becomes adjusted to the new alignment. However, there are a few herbal teas that you can drink immediately after a chiropractic adjustment to get rid of a headache.

Green Tea

Green tea is often used to aid in weight loss. The tea contains antioxidants that help to stimulate blood flow and cleanse your body of toxins. These benefits also make it ideal to drink following a chiropractic adjustment because it will help to manage any headaches that may follow. You can create your own green tea by steeping loose green tea leaves in hot water. Allow the tea leaves to steep for several hours before drinking it. The longer the leaves steep, the more effective they will be. In addition, you can add lemon to the tea in order to add taste. Before drinking, strain the green tea leaf from the cup. Drink several cups of the green tea throughout the day to avoid developing any headaches.

Feverfew Tea

Feverfew is a common herbal pain remedy that is often used for the alleviation of pain felt throughout the body. This includes migraines and headaches. Feverfew is effective because the herb treats what is causing the headaches and not the pain directly. Once the cause is treated, this helps to alleviate and eliminate any pain. Feverfew tea can be created by placing a handful of the fresh herb in a pot and placing it on the stove to boil. Once it boils, allow the herb to steep for several hours. This will help to release all of the properties of the herb into the water. Once a few hours have passed, remove the feverfew from the pot and add honey or maple syrup for taste. Drink the feverfew following your chiropractic adjustment to avoid any headaches. You should continue drinking the feverfew tea throughout the day to completely avoid any headaches.

Chiropractic adjustments are extremely beneficial for opening the body and releasing any built up tensions. However, sometimes they can cause negative side effects like headaches. Therefore, use these herbal teas to help avoid any headaches.
